“When I was young in York I wanted to be a painter and went to Harrogate School of Art for a year (1961/2). I was then persuaded that I would never make any money, so I came to study architecture in London and ended up as a film editor.
I retired in 2009 and decided to start painting again. I was introduced to SMart by an old friend and found myself rediscovering life-drawing and meeting a group of people who shared my passion for art.
These drawings and paintings are tentative first steps towards renewing an old ambition.”
