New Year

Are our best wishes enough to bring happiness, health and good fortune to our lives, our friends and our loved ones? Are those good intentions for peace, love, tolerance, respect, solidarity among the inhabitants of the planet sufficient to achieve those noble goals or do we need to take some kind of action to make that a reality?

The euphoria of the season festivities and the New Year celebration will soon fade away and from now on our existences will follow the same old pattern until we consume another three hundred and sixty five days of the new calendar and then we will go on and on repeating the same old pattern.

Perhaps this time we can try to back up our well-intentioned wishes with some substantial changes in our lives that clearly reflect the meaning of our words. If our wishes are aimed to bring happiness to our lives, we need to build a better and fairer world for all. Let’s do it! Let’s do it together! The ignorance, arrogance, greediness of those few that have the grip on the economic system to control our lives should motivate us many into becoming better citizens and better human beings. Then our yearly wishes eventually will become realities.

I wish you many Happy Years to come. Be SMart!

Jaime
